NCC Sensitizes Corp Members on Copyright Matters

Director-General, Nigerian Copyright Commission, (NCC), Mr. Afam Ezekude, has urged the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members currently in camp, to take advantage of the Commission’s Comprehensive Training Programme on Copyright to maximize their potentials for self employment in the area of creativity.

The DG stated this during the NYSC (FCT) Orientation Camp lecture at Kubwa in Abuja on December 7, 2016.The DG represented by the Director, Nigerian Copyright Institute, (NCI), NCC, Mr. Idowu Ogunkuade, sensitized the Corp members on the fundamentals of Copyright such as definition of copyright, works eligible for copyright protection, copyright infringement and how they can benefit from the NCC programmes.

The training which is part of the Commission’s contribution towards the National Youth Development Programme is the outcome of the agreement between the FCT Director (NYSC) and the Commission to be part of this year’s NYSC orientation camp training.

The Corp members who were excited to be part of the sensitization lecture on copyright expressed eagerness to participate in the proposed Comprehensive Training Programme on Copyright to be offered by the Commission at no cost to the Corp members after the orientation programme.

The sensitization lecture which was organised by the NCI had other staff of the Commission, some serving Corp members and Staff of NYSC in attendance.
