A report signed by Deputy Director (Enforcement) Barr. Mathew Dada Ojo who led a team of Copyright Inspectors alongside, a contingent of armed Policemen and members of Nigerian Publishers Association respectively, disclosed that the suspects were involved in pirating works belonging to several popular publishing outfits in the country such as Macmillan Nig. Ltd, Pearson, Learn Africa, Metropolitan,, University Press Plc, Ezra among others.
Five hundred and eighty cartons of infringing products were seized during the raid while identified titles of some of the seized books and their publishers include: New General Mathematics for JSS 2 by Pearson, New Concept Mathematics JSS 1, New Primary English Book 5, and Nigeria Primary English Pupils Book 6 by Learn Africa.
Other works seized include: Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning Primary 6, Macmillan Brilliant Primary English, Social Studies JSS 2 and Macmillan New Primary English Workbook 4 all by Macmillan; Metropolitan Colouring Activity Book 2 by Metropolitan Publishers; Essentials of Physical and Health Education JSS 3 by Ezra Publishers and New Oxford Secondary English SSS 2 by University Press PLC.
Further information from the First Information Report of the raid showed that no arrest was made while investigation is ongoing.
