DG NCC Commends Google Nigeria

Director-General, Nigerian Copyright Commission, NCC, Mr. Afam Ezekude has commended Google Nigeria for organizing an Internet Literacy Capacity Building  Training Programme for Management and Staff of NCC which took place at the Headquarters of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in Abuja  from December 8-10,2014.

Mr. Ezekude who made this commendation while declaring open the three-day training sponsored by Google Nigeria also said that the Commission is pleased with the existing working relationship with Google especially in the fight against Piracy.

The DG who was represented at the Training Programme by the Director Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Mr Bitrus Dauda, assured participants that the training would go a long way in exposing them to the rudiments of Digital/Internet operations especially in the working environment.

He acknowledged the Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NIRA) represented by Mrs. Mary Uduma; NITDA represented at the Training by Mr. Aristotle Onumo and Mr. Preye Itonyo and Google Nigeria represented by Mrs. Titi Akinsanmi, Manager, Public Policy and Government Relations for organizing the Training.

Resource persons were Mrs. Titi Akinsanni, Mr Chima Uba and Mr. Olusegun Leigh all of Google Nigeria who made presentations on, “Internet Basics and Infrastructure” and, “Google Applications”.108 participants benefitted from the 3 day training Programme.
