NCC Raids Bookshops in Ilorin, Confiscates N1million Books

Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has confiscated pirated books worth One million twenty eight thousand nine hundred and sixty Naira (1,028,960) concealed in a warehouse during an anti-piracy operation in Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to the head of Ilorin Liaison Office, Mrs. J.O. Akinwunmi, most of the seized books belong to Learn Africa Plc. She said the seizure was facilitated by the discovery of a warehouse belonging to Sunday Sunday Bookshop located at No.5 Emir Road in Ilorin South Local Government.

The enforcement raid was carried out by a combined team of Copyright Inspectors and representatives of Nigerian Publishers Association backed up by armed Policemen on November 12, 2015.
